AutoScout24 (www.autoscout24.de) is one of the leading Internet car portals in the market. Involved in the markets in 18 countries, and with 37,000 member dealers, AutoScout24 is present in all the main markets in Europe. Dr. Nicolas Carbonari was Senior Project Manager at McKinsey & Co, before he founded AutoScout24 along with two other McKinsey consultants: “As we sought venture capital in 1997, few companies understood the Internet. IVC Venture Capital AG was one of the few exceptions – and was brave enough to invest in what was largely unknown new technology. That, for us, was the catalyst for founding the company.“ AutoScout24 offers private customers, car dealers and other partners in the automotive, finance and insurance industries a comprehensive platform for trading cars on the Internet.
IVC Venture Capital AG gained high returns when selling AutoScout24 through an acquisition. While founded as MasterCar AG in Munich, Autoscout24 is in the meantime a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Scout24 Group, which is in turn part of Deutsche Telekom AG.
